資優和才優課程設計
 
使命
櫻桃溪學校資優和才優教育的目的是提供一個教育的經驗,使學生學習成績達到最大成果
 
理念
櫻桃學區認為,資優和才優學生有獨特的學術和情感的需求。櫻桃溪學區的行政管理者和教師支持一個理念,即強調資優和才優學生的高度成就需要一個具有挑戰性的學習環境。為資優和才優學生的課程設計必須適應個化需求,必須承認多種才能、挑戰,和學區人口的文化多樣性。
櫻桃學區支基於研究的策略,提供最佳的學習機會,以確保資優和才優學生的成績表現相當于他們的能力資優和才優學生在就學期間,被提供具有機動性的、富有挑戰性的教育課程。
 
信念的陳述
櫻桃學區2002制定資優和才優策略方案,確認有關資優和才優學生和他們教育的核心信念。這些信念包括以下內容:
 
  • 所有的學生都有些學科優勢,不是所有的學生都是天才
  • 學生可在一個領域或在多個領域具有天賦和才華
  • 資優和才優學生有獨特和多樣化的認知和情感的能力和需要
  • 資優和才優學生出現在所有的人口
  • 應提供資優和才優學生教育計劃,以促進其最大學術和個人的成長,並且適當的記錄其成長
  • 資優和才優學生應該承認重視他們天賦和能力的環境裡學習
  • 資優才優學生,在其整個求學生涯應提供適當的和多樣的課程選項
  • 資優才優學生需要足夠的支持,包括直接的教學,發揮他們最大限度的學術潛力                                                                   
  • 資優才優學生在其整個求學生涯需要有所選擇
  • 資優才優學生早期的識別和適當的教育回應是至關重要的
  • 為資優才優學生提供適當的程是任課教師選修課教師資優專家、行政人員、和家長的共同責任
  • 資優才優學生必須是積極的參與者和能夠為自己的學習分
