The Cherry Creek Priority Standards

CCSD Piority Standards require a greater focus in mathematics. Rather than racing to cover topics in a mile-wide, inch-deep curriculum, the standards ask educators to significantly narrow and deepen the way time and energy are spent in the math classroom.  The Cherry Creek Priority Standards are in alignment with the Colorado Academic Standards for college and career readiness and support the three major shifts in instruction:

1. Focus strongly where the standards focus.

2. Coherence: Think across grades and link to major topics within grades.

3. Rigor: In major topics, pursue conceptual understanding, procedural skill and fluency, and application with equal intensity.
