Destination ImagiNation

DI Logo Destination ImagiNation is an extra curricular program that strives to teach creative problem solving strategies, team work, and life-long skills. The goal is to cultivate the creative problem solving process and make it an unconscious part of students' everyday lives. The program develops Team Challenges and Instant Challenges each year. In the Instant challenges, teams hone their problem solving skills as they practice coming up with solutions for Instant Challenges. Thinking on their feet, becoming comfortable with quick decision-making, and further developing teamwork are among the skills that Instant Challenges promote. Team Challenges, written by volunteers who are well versed in Destination ImagiNation curriculum, are carefully concocted brainteasers that challenge kids by purposefully stimulating the different senses we use to learn. Teams choose one challenge and spend several months perfecting their "solution." Teams present their solutions at local, regional, and state competitions. The program concludes at an annual Global Finals event, where top performing teams from all over the world gather to display their creative problem-solving abilities.
