STEP 1: Apply
***Do not use a CCSD email address for your application***
- Spring 2019 application deadline is September 28, 2018.
You cannot be placed without this documentation uploaded to your file
· Transcripts: Unofficial transcripts are acceptable
· University/College Documentation: Your university representative can email this information to us or you can upload it to your file. Most universities have a document indicating you are eligible to student teach. If yours does not, your university representative will need to email us confirming you are eligible to student teach next semester.
The documents listed above can be submitted to Human Resources by uploading them when you submit your application.
If you have trouble uploading your documents, you may submit them to HR by email to email@example.com
STEP 2: Student Teacher Placement Window
- Spring 2019: From October 1, 2018 through November 12, 2018.
During the placement window, student teaching applicants should advocate for themselves and contact our schools directly to inquire about possible placement. All main phone numbers for our schools can be found on our website via the link below.
In some cases, the student teaching applicant has already made a student teaching arrangement (a CCSD teacher has agreed to be your cooperating teacher AND this teacher has obtained approval from the principal at the school). If this applies to you then go directly to Step #3.
STEP 3: Placement Form
Once a student teaching placement has been arranged (a CCSD teacher has agreed to be your cooperating teacher AND this teacher has obtained approval from the principal at the school), our school will submit a Student Teacher Placement Form in our system. Please complete the Student Teacher Information form linked below and submit it to the school, so that your electronic placement form can be initiated. It is your responsibility to follow up with the school and ensure your electronic placement form has been submitted.
STEP 4: Background Check
Upon receipt of the electronic placement form in Human Resources, an email will be sent to the student teacher regarding the fingerprint background check requirement.
You will need to make an appointment with our front desk (720-554-4433) to be fingerprinted. You will need to bring $39.50 in cash or check to have the prints processed by CBI.
After the student teaching candidate clears the background check, the form is processed and a copy of the approved form will be sent to the student teacher and the university/college representative (if applicable).
If your background check has not cleared prior to the start of your student teaching period, the school will be notified that you are not eligible to student teach or enter the building until they get an email from HR clearing you to start.
STEP 5: Student Teacher Orientation
A student teacher orientation will be scheduled if budgetary constraints allow. Student Teachers will be contacted with dates and information via the email address they supply in the online student teaching application.
STEP 6: Guaranteed Screening Interview
As part of your CCSD student teaching placement, you are guaranteed a general screening interview with a Cherry Creek Administrator. Student teachers will be contacted with dates and information via the email address they supplied in the online student teaching application.
