Cherry Creek Schools to honor America's heroes

TRMS Flags 2.JPGEvery school in the Cherry Creek School District will honor our nation’s heroes – veterans and active duty military personnel – during the district’s annual Veterans Week Celebration, Nov. 9-13.

Some schools will host breakfasts for honored guests followed by patriotic programs. Some will invite veterans into classrooms to share their stories with students. There will be parades and educational displays. Students will write essays or create artwork honoring those who have served and still serve.

“We are proud to honor our American heroes – these veterans and active duty servicemen and women – by inviting them into our schools and personally thanking them for their service. What a powerful way for our students to learn important lessons about service, sacrifice and world history,” said Dr. Harry Bull, superintendent of Cherry Creek Schools.

The entire Cherry Creek Schools community, and especially veterans and active duty servicemen and women, are invited to attend these events. Get a complete listing of dates, times and events here.
