2015 Exceptional Volunteers honored for service, commitment

Their work may be unpaid, but its value isn't going unnoticed in the Cherry Creek School District.

Sixty volunteers from buildings across the district received recognition and thanks during the Cherry Creek School District and Parents' Council 10th Annual Wendy DeBell Exceptional Volunteer event held April 23 at the Denver Marriott South at Park Meadows. Volunteers whose duties range from helping out in school libraries to working on the front lines of the district's work at the state Legislature received a personal "thank you" from district officials including Superintendent Dr. Harry Bull and members of the Board of Education.

Exceptional Volunteer Leah Camper and Cherry Creek School District Board of Education President Jim O'Brien introduced the 60 volunteers, and district administrators spoke of the importance that the group brings to the everyday operations of the district. Honorees lined up to shake hands with Bull and members of the board. Bull specifically spoke of the personalized magic volunteers bring to the district, an observation that aligned with the basic theme of the evening.

Congratulations to the 2015 Exceptional Volunteers!
