The 2011-12 School year will be Arrowhead Elementary’s 6th year of PBS implementation. School-Wide Positive Behavior Support (PBS) is a systems approach to problem solving and planning for helping students to make appropriate choices. PBS supports the belief that in order to be successful, schools must create settings and routines where expectations are understood, attainable, and positive for all involved. We have set expectations for our students’ behavior in the classroom, hallway, cafeteria, playground and restrooms. These expectations are called the 3Bs! These expectations are taught and reinforced throughout the year. We reward children for their positive behaviors. These rewards include Bug Awards, Class Compliments, and Super Bee Awards. All students participate in both the 3B Poster Contest, held in January, and 3B Writing Contest, which is held in April. Our goal is to reinforce positive behavior, provide students with the tools to be successful students and lay the foundation to be productive citizens.
