Welcome to the Aspen Crossing Elementary Library!
Our Mission: The mission of the ACE Library is to support curriculum, assist all students and staff in becoming effective, ethical, and creative users of ideas and information so that they may become conscientious decision-makers, and to foster a love of reading and literature.
Library Hours: The ACE Library is open from 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Students are welcome to come in any time during the school day. If we are busy with a scheduled class, students can still browse for books and leave their choice, along with their name, on the circulation desk. We will check the books out and bring them to their classroom.
Check-out Policy: Kindergarten and first grade students may check out one (1) book at a time and may keep it for one week. Second through fifth grade students may check out two (2) books at a time for recreational reading, for a period of two weeks. Books may be renewed if the student does not finish reading them by the date they are due. However, keep in mind that other students may be waiting to your book. Please return your books on time!
Extra may be checked out for research projects, if needed.
Overdue Items: There are currently no fines for overdue books, however, when a student has a book that is more than one (1) week overdue, they will not be permitted to check out any additional items until the overdue items are either returned, or the replacement cost is paid. If the item is later found and returned within six (6) months unharmed, the cost may be refunded.
Lost or Damaged Books: The student who checked out an item that has become lost or damaged is responsible for paying the cost to replace the book.
Volunteers: We welcome parent and community volunteers! If you would like to read with children, work with students, or help maintain the collection, please contact Alyssa Larson at 720.886.3711. This is a great way to be involved in your child’s education.
Donations: Parents often ask about donating books as their child outgrows them. Donations can really help a library expand its collection. However, we have certain requirements about reading levels, content, and sturdiness. If you would like to donate books in your child’s name, please contact the library.
Birthday Books: In addition, we have a Birthday Book program where parents can select a book from the library wish list to donate on their child’s birthday. We will order the book for you, and insert a nameplate stating that your child donated it. Your child will receive a certificate of thanks from the school.
