KINDERGARTEN ENRICHMENT
The Kindergarten Enrichment Program is
valuable to the Cherry Hills Village community as an extension of the
Kindergarten Day. The program is governed by the Cherry Creek School
District, and by the Colorado Department of Human Services, Division of
Child Care.
The objective of the Kindergarten
Enrichment Program is to provide a safe and enriching learning
experience for Kindergarten aged children. This program provides a full
day experience for students. This enables the children to make a smooth
transition from Kindergarten to 1st grade.
The Kindergarten Enrichment classes are
taught by Elizabeth Burris and Maureen Swann, both experienced teachers
who have taught Kindergarten Enrichment for the Cherry Creek School
District many years. Triana Burdick provides reading support for the
students. The program requires a one to fifteen teacher/child ratio. In
addition to the experienced teachers, the program also has four teacher
assistants: Deb Arehart, Lindsay Bell, Abby Churchill, and Julia Jinishian.
Kindergarten Enrichment works very
closely with the Kindergarten team. Academic support is provided and
skills taught in the CHVE Kindergarten are reinforced. Children enjoy a
full day of school while socializing with other classroom friends. The
program provides numerous opportunities for many hands-on experiences
such as reading, stories, games, art, music, cooking and science.
