Jason Mabrey grew up in Colorado and attended Woodland Park High School in Woodland Park Colorado. He received his Bachelors Degree in Music Education, and a Double Master Degree in Conducting and Education from Colorado State University in Fort Collins. He and his wife Sarah have a wonderful 2 1/2 year old son name Miles and are expecting their 2nd child in late March 2010! Mr. Mabrey is also one of the principal trumpets in the Denver Concert Band and the Columbine Brass Quintet. He is also an active freelance trumpet player who has played with the Denver Brass, Fort Collins Symphony, Cheyenne Symphony, and many other groups. Laurie Thede is a native of Nebraska where she attended the University of Nebraska, graduating with a degree in Music Education. She and her husband, Larry, have raised three children who are now productive members of society so now Mrs. Thede devotes herself to the next generation. She thoroughly enjoys teaching orchestra and AP Music Theory at Eaglecrest. She also directs the only high school Handbell Choir in our district. Mrs. Thede is the principal cellist in the Aurora Symphony and also plays numerous gigs with her string quartet. In her spare time she enjoys painting, trips to the mountains, and Mickey, the Little Prince of Pomeranians. |

About the Director Julie Williams is in her 11th year as choir director at Eaglecrest High School and in her 14th year of teaching. Julie earned both her Bachelors Degree and Master’s Degree in Music Education from the University of Northern Colorado. Under Julie’s direction, the EHS choirs have consistently received the highest ratings at festivals around the United States. Julie’s choirs performed at the Regional American Choral Directors Association Conference, the Colorado Music Educators Conference four times in the past eight years. Julie is an active adjudicator and clinician around Colorado and the surrounding states. She is Founder and former director of Rocky Mountain Vocal Jazz Camp, and has been involved with the Colorado All-State Jazz Choir since the year of its inception as a judge, board member and chairman. Julie and her husband Matt are the proud parents of 4-year old twin girls, Mackenzie and Madison. |
