What is P.A.S.S.?
In order to reach Falcon Creek’s mission of learning and preparing each of our students for high school, college and post-secondary readiness, it requires the partnership of ALL of our students. More specifically, it requires a deliberate and intentional effort to foster an open and collaborative relationship with our African-American, Hispanic/Latino and multi-racial parents by inviting you to address issues/concerns that impact the achievement of your students. Ultimately, the goal is to increase the number of our students of color taking more advanced and rigorous coursework. Your input will assist Falcon Creek in obtaining equitable experiences and outcomes for our students.
~Dr. John G. Kennedy, Principal
There are five essential P.A.S.S. Team training and community goals:
Bridging the cultural gap between schools and parents/community members;
Identifying community resources that can be used to support student’s academic success;
Learning to make community partnerships and parent/teacher relationships constitutive and intentional elements of district/school equity transformation efforts;
Involving community members in district/school planning and advisory processes; and
Improving relationships between teachers, parents, and families.
