What We Teach and Why We Teach It
Educators at Falcon Creek Middle School teach the fundamentals of traditional academic excellence. Students receive a broad and thorough knowledge of reading, writing, math, science, history and geography. These are the essential building blocks students will need for further education and in the world of work. Students will also learn about the arts, computer technology, foreign language, health, media skills, and physical education. Within the framework, the elective program provides a strong fine arts focus.
Throughout the school year, we will provide you with:
¨ Information about what your student is expected to learn and be able to do
¨ Information about how well your student performs in class and meets the expectations and requirements—expressed as letter grades
¨ Information about how your student performs as measured by criteria established by the State of Colorado through the Transitional Colorado Assessment Program (TCAP)
Each and every member of the Falcon Creek staff is committed to instilling 21st Century Skills in each child attending our middle school. As students enter classrooms at Falcon Creek, be assured that they will receive the prerequisite skills to succeed, to be effective citizens, workers, and leaders in the 21st Century. There is a dramatic need for students to be prepared for rigorous higher education coursework in today’s world. In order for students to meet career challenges in a globally competitive workforce, middle school students must develop the Habits of Mind to face the future challenges awaiting them.
