Targeted interventions are delivered in a small-group setting by the intervention teacher. These include targeted, specific prevention, or remedial interventions for students whose academic performance or behavior lag behind the norm for their grade and educational setting.
Support Reading and Support Writing
s Available for students at all grade levels.
s Both regular education and special education students are in these classes.
s Typically these students are performing 2 or 3 years below grade level, although there may be exceptions to this.
s Students receive a traditional grade (A, B, C, D, F) in these classes.
Proficiency Reading and Proficiency Writing*
s Designed to work in conjunction with grade level reading and writing classes.
s Provides personalized strategies to increase student engagement to fill individual learning gaps.
s Available for students at all grade levels.
s Typically these students are performing 1 or 2 years below grade level, although there may be exceptions to this.
s Students receive a traditional grade (A, B, C, D, F) in these classes.
Basic Foundations of Math*
s Available for students at all grade levels.
s Typically these students are performing 1 or 3 years below grade level, although there may be exceptions to this.
s Students receive a traditional grade (A, B, C, D, F) in these classes.
*If a student has one of these intervention classes, that class will take the place of one elective class. If a student has two of these classes, those classes will take the place of one elective class and Social Studies. If a student has three of these intervention classes, those classes will take the place of one elective class, Social Studies, and Science. All students will have at least one elective class.
Universal interventions are delivered in a general education setting. These include high-quality instructional practices and positive behavioral supports for all students.
