Individual Counseling
Grandview High School counselors work with students on an individual basis regarding person/social issues. This brief counseling model is not meant to replace outside, private therapy. Students may make an appointment with their counselor to discuss individual concerns.
Support Groups
Support groups are offered at Grandview High School on an on-going basis. These groups, facilitated by grade level counselors and school psychologists, provide general support to students. These groups are intended to help alleviates stressors that may impact school success. See your counselor for more information.
Peer Counseling
Because some students feel more comfortable talking with a peer, Grandview High School Peer Counselors are available each period in the counseling office to meet with students regarding personal and academic concerns. Peer counselors are carefully selected, supervised, and trained in the areas of confidentiality, conflict resolution, tutoring, and one-on-one support.
Peer counselors are juniors and seniors who have been selected in the spring of their sophomore or junior year. See your counselor if you are interested in applying to become a peer counselor.
Mental Health
The Grandview High School Mental Health Team consists of two full time clinical psychologists who provide crisis intervention and support. The psychologists are also available for consultation on many issues which may affect learning and school success. They consult with grade level Flex Teams regarding general and special education students.
Crisis Support
The turbulent years of adolescence are sometimes difficult. During these times, Grandview High School counselors and school psychologists work with students and families to seek appropriate resources.
