What makes Heritage unique?

Workshop Model

A consistent style of instruction from year to year provides students large blocks of time to engage in authentic tasks. Students delve deeply in their learning both individually and in small groups. Teachers serve as guides and coaches to individualize instruction. Students are engaged and motivated to become lifelong learners.

Teachers Specialize

Teachers at each grade level teach either math and science or reading and writing, depending on their strengths and passions. Social studies is integrated throughout the curriculum. Students are with each teacher for half the day and they gain a deeper understanding of content and standards because teachers have the time to effectively plan and teach curriculum.

Thinking Strategies

Research shows that students who become aware of the techniques and skills of effective learners are able to integrate those attributes into their own learning; to think deeply. This helps create confident learners who know how to use language around their learning.

Love and Logic Philosophy

Our teachers have been trained in the nationally recognized Love and Logic philosophy, which encourages responsibility and ownership by establishing natural consequences.

A Neighborhood School

As one of the smallest schools in metro Denver, Heritage provides a warm and nurturing environment for students and families.
