Science
The National Science Teachers Association supports the notion that inquiry science must be a basic in the curriculum of every elementary school student at every grade level. Here at High Plains we are very fortunate to offer science as part of the K-5 specials rotation.

Inquiry based activities serve an integral role in fostering and encouraging the innate sense of curiosity in our students. We incorporate the use of science notebooks to document our questions, observations, data collection, and discoveries in the fields of life science, physical science, and earth science. Students are involved in first hand explorations and investigations, which fosters positive attitudes towards science and prepares them for future studies in science.
