POSITIVE BEHAVIOR SUPPORT
Indian Ridge Elementary is currently one of nine Cherry Creek schools piloting a Positive Behavior Supports (PBS) model this school year. Positive Behavior Supports is a proactive, research-based system for helping all students demonstrate appropriate behavior and social competence. Together with effective instructional strategies, PBS practices support success and achievement for all students.
INDIAN RIDGE CARES
Five positively stated school-wide behavioral expectations have been defined and taught to all students. These expectations are represented by the acronym CARES.
- Care
- Achieve
- Respectful and Responsible
- Everyone Included
- Safe
At Indian Ridge, our students Care and Achieve. Students are Respectful and Responsible. Everyone is Included and students are Safe.
BULLY-PROOFING
PBS and the bully-proofing efforts at Indian Ridge work together. During the course of the school year, all students will receive instruction using a common language related to bullying. Students are taught ways of minimizing power struggles with bullies and victims are empowered. The goal is to mobilize a community of caring students who by working together create a safe, respectful and inclusive school culture and climate.
