Academics
The academic programming at Red Hawk Ridge Elementary School is based on curricula that is research based, meets or exceed state standards, and is able to be modified to meet each student's needs.
 
Literacy
Our balanced literacy model includes shared, guided and independent reading. We use a wide range of leveled books in a variety of genres. We address the six essential components of reading: phonemic awareness, phonics, reading fluency, vocabulary development, comprehension strategies, and motivation/prior knowledge.
 
Mathematics
Everyday Mathematics is used from kindergarten through fifth grade. In addition, we use STANDOUT Math.
 
Writing
Writing Alive! is implemented from kindergarten through fifth grade.
 
Social Studies
Social Studies Alive and History Alive, along with Colorado Crossroads are some of the texts used in our units of study.
 
Science
We use FOSS along with Discovery Works.
