Hello Students and Parents,
Spring is here and we hope you had a great break. Now it is time to finish the year strong and here is how you can do just that.
Students, we have four quarters in each year. Fourth quarter is vital to your continuing success as a student either here at Thunder Ridge or as you transition to high school. You need to finish strong and get ready for the next challenge in your educational journey. Habits are vitally important to your growth, but you must determine which habits you will choose to adopt. It is our hope that you are adopting those habits of mind that include:
- Doing my best!
- Getting to school on time.
- Doing my homework and getting assignments turned in.
- Studying for exams.
- Getting ready for each and every challenge facing me in education and life.
Being the best person I can be and making good decisions every day!
Remember, everything you put in place today will have an effect on your tomorrow. If you choose to be successful, you must lay the foundation for success. Nothing in this life comes free. Successful people have a vision of what they want to do or accomplish and they practice every day to make this happen. T.R.M.S., let’s finish the year strong with our attitude, our behavior, and our habits of mind.
Parents, you can also help your child with the following:
- Monitor your child’s progress through Power School.
- Ask your child about homework and what is happening in school.
- Help your child with their homework.
- Attend a performance, a game, a play or volunteer at school in the classroom, the cafeteria, the library, or as a member of our PTO/PAC or PASS teams.
- Get your child to school on time. We are still averaging around thirty tardies each morning. Think about the message we are sending our children about the value of schedules.
Support your teachers and administrators in all aspects of their work.
Follow the rules for traffic and parking and model appropriately.
It takes a village to raise a child and for each of our students, your children, we need to work together to lay the foundation for success. Let’s all do our part to get our children ready for the next assignment, the next grade, for high school, for college, and for life. Thank you for your help and support with all children of Thunder Ridge Middle School. I look forward to seeing many of you at our year-end activities, concerts, honor roll breakfasts and eighth grade honors night
Until next month,
Mark Sneden
