I feel extremely fortunate to be the principal of Village East Elementary School and look forward to working with our talented students, parents, and staff members.  We truly have a special school environment as a result of our partnership.  Have a great 2012-2013 school year and we invite you to be involved at school as much as you possibly can!  And as always, I thank you for allowing me to be a part of your child’s education.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Greetings Village East Family and Friends,

I am ecstatic and overjoyed to be the new Assistant Principal at Village East Community Elementary! Going into my 14th year in the district, I have had many amazing experiences both at the elementary and middle school level. These experiences have given me great insight into the importance of ensuring our students have the ability, knowledge, and self-advocacy skills to be successful as they move through their elementary years.

For the past three years, I have worked as the Assistant Principal at Antelope Ridge Elementary School in the south eastern part our district.  I also taught at Dakota Valley Elementary School and prior to that, was a social studies teacher at Prairie Middle School for nearly eight years before moving in to elementary. These experiences have provided me many opportunities to build strong community relationships, connections with students, and work collaboratively with teachers and staff to strengthen our learning goals. With these strong connections I will continue to support our district and school’s mission to inspire every student to think, to learn, to achieve, and to care and push forward the values as instilled in our PEAK Pledge at Village East.

As a parent of a new kindergartener and 4th grader, I understand the importance of continuing meaningful connections with my children’s school and teachers. Having strong ties to the community are important to me. Through a collective vision that involves the voices of community and school members alike, I feel we can direct students to be successful at Village East.

I hope to continue the support and opportunities for parents to attend school information nights that tie into 21st century thinking and learning, reinforce our focus on life-long education, recognizing students’ hard work and positive behaviors, and providing purposeful learning opportunities for students, parents, and the Village East staff and teachers.

I look forward to establishing deep connections and relationships with the families of Village East. Please stop by for a chat anytime! My door is always open.

Sincerely,

Sangita Patel

Assistant Principa
