Dear Village East Families,
Welcome to the 2011/2012 school year! A new school year has started at Village East
and throughout this year we will be continuing our quest of excellence and
equity for all of our students.
All members of the Village East staff are looking forward to
working together as we create a learning community where all students will
achieve success! With your help, we will
continue to meet the district mission: to
inspire every student to think, to learn, to achieve, and to care. Our teachers will be involved in
professional development throughout the year to continue our journey to provide
the best possible instruction to our students and raise the achievement of
all.
It is a privilege to have the opportunity to lead within
such a dedicated, diverse educational community striving to inspire all of our
children to think, to learn, to achieve, and to care. This is my 6th year in the Cherry
Creek School District, with 7 previous years of teaching in the Palm Springs
Unified School District in Southern California in grades 3-5. I started my career with Cherry Creek as a 5th
grade teacher at Village East.
When I am not at Village East, I can be found spending time
with my family. We have two beautiful
daughters, Allie and Averie. Allie is a
1st grader and loves school.
Averie is 15 months old and keeps us very busy. My wife, Kate, is a dedicated Instructional
Coach with Cherry Creek Schools, and a truly amazing mother. We enjoy golfing, biking, and spending
quality time together.
I feel extremely fortunate to be the principal of Village
East Elementary School and look forward to working with our talented students,
parents, and staff members. We truly
have a special school environment as a result of our partnership. Have a great 2011-2012 school year and we
invite you to be involved at school as much as you possibly can! And as always, I thank you for allowing me to
be a part of your child’s education.
Warmly,
Toby R. Arritola

Greetings
Village East Families and Friends,
It
truly takes a village to raise our children and I am thrilled to be a part of
the “Village”! My name is Mia Robinson,
the assistant principal, at Village East Elementary School. I am honored to serve as an administrator in
a wonderful building filled with families, children, and teachers from all over
the world. At Village East, we take
pride in our diversity because we know that it is our strength and what makes
us unique in the Cherry Creek School District.
As
a military wife to my husband Sgt. Keith Robinson and mother of three beautiful
children, Orin, Ruby and Alexandra, we are constantly seeking what it takes to
raise them to be successful, happy, and compassionate citizens. Ruby is a sophomore at Columbia University;
Alexandra a freshman at Denver School of the Arts; and Orin is a budding
poet. Keith is currently serving in
Afghanistan. Each one of them has unique
gifts and talents that contribute to our successful family unit. Our school community, like my family, values
the unique gifts and talents of all of its’ members.
We
are fortunate at Village East to have many of the elements that it takes to
create compassionate and productive citizens of the 21st
century. Here are just a few special
highlights of what makes Village East so special:
P = Positive Attitudes – We pride ourselves in having a positive
attitude about our school, ourselves and our community.
E = Excellence and Equity – We are striving to achieve excellence and
equity and access for all.
A = Achievement – We are do whatever is necessary to achieve
in all areas.
K = Kindness and respect –We are kind to each other and show respect
at all times and in all settings.
We invite you
to be a part of our wonderful village!
Regards,
Mia Robinson
