​Giving Tree Update

We had another banner year of generosity. Willow Creek's community reached out to help students from Ponderosa Elementary. Here’s the note from the Ponderosa library teacher who sent the children’s hand-drawn thank-you notes and the notes from their parents:

“I just wanted to thank you so much for helping our Ponderosa community again this year! It was amazing to watch 120 gifts come in and see 120 families come in to pick them up in a one-week time frame. I know it was a lot of organization at your end!!

"I wanted to share about the lady who got the vacuum. She literally jumped up and down with such joy and excitement when she saw it! She said she had a one-year-old crawling around on the floor and didn’t have a vacuum. She said she wrote it down on the form, but never thought she would get one! I wanted to cry just watching her. I know they had a wonderful Christmas!

"I am enclosing a copy of one of the thank-you notes that we received this year; I hope it reflects how all the families felt. Perhaps you can share it with all of your families!"

Dear Angel From Above,
I want to thank you and your wonderful family for spending the time and love for helping me and my son for Christmas. It was a blessing from above. It was all wonderful! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. May all your wishes and dreams come true. I will pay it back to someone else in need. I am new to the state of Colorado and needed help. It was there, thanks to people like you. Thanks again and God Bless.

 

The Giving Tree

The Willow Creek Giving Tree will be back this holiday season in the library. Parents are welcome to support families in need by taking an ornament off the Giving Tree and bringing in a gift from the attached list. There is no obligation to purchase everything on the list.

Please make sure that the ornament has been signed out with your name and contact information so that we can keep track of the gifts. The Giving Tree will be in the library from Monday, November 28th until Friday, December 9th.

Your help is greatly appreciated and will benefit children from Ponderosa Elementary School and other families in our community. The Giving Tree is sponsored by the Willow Creek Student Council.
