Adventure Club

Description: Adventure Club provides 8th
grade students with an opportunity to go and explore the amazing things that Colorado has to offer. In addition, the club helps to build leadership skills while facilitating positive relationships with your peers. At these meetings we will participate in team-building activities, then once a month we will go on various adventures. Such adventures may include hiking, ziplining, & ice skating. -
Art Club

Astronomy Club

Genders & Sexualities Alliance (GSA)
Sponsor: Micki Nelson & Lily Ellison
Description: Students who identify with any
sexual orientation or sexual preference come together for support and outreach within the confines of Prairie Middle School. We will provide a safe place for students to meet, support each other, talk about issues related to sexual orientation and gender identity and expression. Anyone who would like to raise awareness and take steps to creating a positive atmosphere for the LGBTQ+ community is welcome to join! -
Girls Who Code/ Stem Blazers

Description: Girls who code is a free program for 6th to 8th grade girls and non-binary students to join a sisterhood of supportive peers and role models using computer science to change the world.

Mathletes

Description: A club for 6th, 7th & 8th grade
students to work on their math problem-solving skills and meet “mathletes” from other schools around Cherry Creek. Students
in this club will also be able to compete with other students around the district. -
Minecraft
Sponsor: Mary Anderson
Description: Students collaborate with their clubmates to enjoy a quiet, creative afternoon on a creative server, or choose more adventurous experience and join a survival style, PVP server. Students are encouraged to program agents using either block-coding or Python, build amazing structures, or create automated gizmos using redstone, pistons, repeaters, trap doors and any other in-game components they may master.

National Junior Honor Society (NJHS)

Description: National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) recognizes and promotes student achievement in the areas of scholarship, character, service, citizenship and leadership. Thousands of schools have NJHS charters and colleges consider participation in NJHS to be a good indicator of future success. If you are a dedicated student and are interested in community service and leadership, then NJHS is the place for you!

Shades of Brilliance

Spelling Bee
Sponsor: Cameron Hays
Description: Cherry Creek Schools Spelling
Bee is affiliated with the Scripps National Spelling Bee. As a district, we have participated for the last two decades. Each year, elementary and middle schools around the district host a school spelling bee prior to the District Bee. After that, we will advance
to the district-level written spelling bee. From that competition, the top 30-35 spellers will move on to the oral spelling bee. The top 20 spellers earn an opportunity to compete at the Colorado State Spelling Bee. -
Step Club

Description: Step is a unique dance art form
that originated in Africa. Stepping is a form of percussive dance in which the participants’
entire body is used as an instrument to produce complex rhythms and sounds through a mixture of footsteps, spoken words and hand claps.
