Possible Scenarios for Returning to School in the Fall

    K-12 Online Learning

1.a.       Elevation Online Middle (6-8) and High School (9-12)

For students who learn best online, potentially have underlying medical conditions, or who choose not to engage with in-person, physically distanced school, the Cherry Creek School District is offering Elevation Online Middle and High School. This is a fully accredited, diploma-granting school with its own platform and approach. Students must register for this Cherry Creek school separately.

    2.a.       Elementary Online Learning (K-5)

For parents of elementary students who choose not to have their students return to in-person, physically distanced school, we will provide an opportunity to receive their education through a district-wide remote learning approach. Students will be grouped by grade level across various schools and assigned a teacher for remote learning. Different than the spring of 2020, remote learning will be more synchronous, take attendance, and hold students accountable for learning. Students must register for this opportunity separately. CDE approval on waivers for online learning would be required.

Blended Learning with Physical Distancing Requirements with Possibility of Remote Learning

Based on health department guidance of maintaining 6 feet of separation between individuals throughout the school day (in addition to other guidance such as masks, temperature checks, etc.) students will be assigned, based on the last name, to one of two days - A or B. On their assigned day, students will attend school for in-person instruction and then will remain at home, with assigned work to complete on their "home" day. If during the school year, COVID-19 virus cases increase, and the district receives guidance to close buildings, the district will move to a daily remote learning model until further notice.

    School as Normal

Provided the district receives full clearance from state and local officials with proper testing, plans remain in place to hold school as normal for the 2020-21 school year. This work remains in place and will not be reviewed any further in this document.
