Mrs. Deanna Thaler

Welcome to FCMS Choir and Music Technology!  My name is Mrs. Thaler and I am excited to be teaching 6th,7th, and 8th grade choir as well as 7th and 8th grade music technology at Falcon Creek Middle School. Prior to teaching at FCMS, I taught for 8 years in the Douglas County School District. I am also an alumni of CCSD and graduated from Grandview HS. I love teaching and getting to share my passion for music with my students! I believe strongly in creating a safe, collaborative classroom environment where all students can thrive regardless of prior music training. I am also on the Colorado Middle School All State Choir Board and currently serve as Co-Chair. You can find more information about that here.

Outside of teaching, I love to perform and find this an important part of being a music teacher so that I can keep up my own skills and bring real world performing experiences back to my students. I currently sing as an Alto with the Colorado Symphony Chorus I love getting to work on incredible masterworks with other talented musicians from across our beautiful state. I have gotten incredible opportunities to perform in beautiful locations across the world and with some amazing musicians while being part of this incredible organization.

I am a Colorado native and a proud Colorado State University alumni. I graduated in May 2013 with a degree in music education with a performance certificate. In my free time I love spending time with my family and friends. I am married to a middle school orchestra teacher and have a beautiful rescue dog named Penny. We love making music, travelling, spending time in the beautiful Colorado outdoors, playing board games, and watching movies together!
