Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year! For the upcoming school year, Cherry Creek has launched a Back to School Hub, a one-stop online resource to make it easier for parents and guardians to get the information and complete forms necessary to start the school year. This website is NOW LIVE and Parent Forms are now available as well as helpful guides to admissions requirements, transportation needs, school meals, technology, and more.

All families are required to update and complete their Parent Forms each year and before their child(ren) is able to attend school.

Greetings Smoky Hill Families,

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year!  We are extremely excited to greet our new students, our freshmen class, and welcome back our returning students.  The check-in process for this school year will be very similar to last year.  We have been able to streamline the check-in process and move many things to an online/digital format.  Of course, there are some things that still need to be done in-person and we look forward to seeing our students and families on Friday, August 4^th.  Please read through the following information in its entirely to ensure that you understand what is required, what is optional, and what must be done prior to the in-person check-in on August 4^th.  If you are unable to attend the initial check-in on August 4^th there will be another opportunity on August 10^th. 

Initial Check-in Day

WHEN: Friday, August 4^th                                

WHO: 9^th and 10^th Grade, 8AM to 11:30AM       

          11^th and 12^th Grade, 12:30PM to 3:30PM

WHERE: Band Door Entrance (west of Activities)

Late Check-in Day

WHEN: Thursday, August 10

WHO:  All Grades, 8AM to Noon

WHERE: Band Door Entrance (west of Activities)

Complete ONLINE, PRIOR to August 4^th:

Please keep in mind that ALL students (new and returning) must be registered/re-registered before the first day of school.  It is important to know that a student’s course schedule will not be released until this is complete.  Families that fail to complete this process before the first day of school must report to the late check-in station on the first day of school.

• Pay Student Fees & Fines. Payments must be made online using this LINK.  There will be a bookkeeping station on August 4^th to help with issues/questions.

IN-PERSON check-in on August 4^th:

Required

• Assistance with Parent Forms (please try to complete prior)
• For anyone having difficulty completing the online registration/check-in process, there will be laptops and individuals available to assist you.
• Assistance with Paying Student Fees & Fines (if unable to complete prior)
• If you have been unable to pay fees/fines online there will be a bookkeeping station available to help with issues/questions.  Payments can be made at this time as well.
• Student Photos and Student IDs
• Student photos will be taken, and student IDs will be printed.  All students are required to wear an ID during school hours and on campus. 
• Laptop Distribution
• Cherry Creek Schools has moved to a 1:1 device model.  Each returning student should already have a district issued laptop. New CCSD/ Smoky students (Sophomores, Juniors, Seniors) will be issued a district laptop during check-in.

• Freshmen will receive their devices on their orientation day, Monday, August,14th
• Seniors Only: Graduation Application
• Seniors will need to turn in their Application for Graduation (which is in the attached packet).

Optional

• Textbook/Library Return 
  • Students will be able to return these items at this time. 
• Yearbook Distribution
  • If you purchased a yearbook for last school (22-23) year you will be able to pick it up at this time. 
• Advanced Placement (AP) Information
  • You will be able to learn more and ask questions about the AP Program @ SHHS.
• PTCO
  • You will be able to learn more about the SHHS PTCO and what they do for the students at Smoky Hill.

Student Schedules

For students that have completed their online check-in process, schedules will be made available, via PowerSchool, to families the week of August 7^th.  Students who HAVE NOT completed the online check-in process WILL NOT receive their schedules until the check-in process has been completed via Parent Forms.  Families that fail to do so before the first day of school must report to the late check-in station on the first day of school.  At which time, the student’s schedule will be released.

¡Bienvenidos al año escolar 2023-2024! Estamos muy emocionados de saludar a nuestros nuevos estudiantes, nuestra clase de primer año y dar la bienvenida a nuestros estudiantes que regresan. El proceso de registro para este año escolar será muy similar al del año pasado. Hemos podido agilizar el proceso de registro y mover muchas cosas a un formato en línea/digital. Por supuesto, hay algunas cosas que aún deben hacerse en persona y esperamos ver a nuestros estudiantes y familias el viernes 5 de agosto. Formularios principales. El acceso a los formularios principales se ha movido. Los formularios ahora se completarán desde dentro de PowerSchool.  Las siguientes instrucciones están destinadas a los padres que necesitan completar los Formularios para padres para sus estudiantes para el próximo año escolar, a través de su portal para padres myCherryCreek.

Tenga en cuenta que TODOS los estudiantes (nuevos y antiguos) deben registrarse o volver a registrarse antes del primer día de clases. Requerido

• Asistencia con los formularios para padres (intente completarlos antes)
  • Para cualquier persona que tenga dificultades para completar el proceso de registro/registro en línea, habrá computadoras portátiles y personas disponibles para ayudarlo.
• Asistencia con el pago de cuotas y multas estudiantiles (si no se pudo completar antes)

• Distribución de portátiles.
  • Las Escuelas de Cherry Creek se han movido a un modelo de dispositivo 1:1. Cada estudiante que regresa ya debe tener una computadora portátil emitida por el distrito. Los estudiantes nuevos de CCSD/Smoky (sophomores, juniors, seniors) recibirán una computadora portátil del distrito durante el registro. Los estudiantes de primer año recibirán sus dispositivos en su día de orientación, el lunes 15 de agosto.
• Solo para personas mayores: Solicitud de graduación.
  • Las personas mayores deberán entregar su Solicitud de graduación (que se encuentra en el paquete adjunto).

Opcional

• Devolución de libros de texto/biblioteca.
  • Los estudiantes podrán devolver estos artículos en este momento.
• Distribución del Anuario.
  • Si compró un anuario para el último año escolar (21-22), podrá recogerlo en este momento.
• Información de Colocación Avanzada (AP).
  • Podrá obtener más información y hacer preguntas sobre el programa AP @ SHHS.
• PTCO.
  • Podrá obtener más información sobre SHHS PTCO y lo que hacen por los estudiantes de Smoky Hill.

Horarios de estudiantes

Para los estudiantes que hayan completado su proceso de registro en línea, los horarios estarán disponibles para las familias a través de PowerSchool la semana del 7 de agosto. Los estudiantes que NO HAN completado el proceso de registro en línea NO recibirán sus horarios hasta que se haya completado el proceso de registro a través de los formularios para padres. Las familias que no lo hagan antes del primer día de clases deben presentarse en la estación de registro tardío el primer día de clases. En ese momento, se dará a conocer el horario del estudiante.

Se adjunta información adicional y formularios que pueden o no pertenecer a su hijo. Por favor revise el paquete en su totalidad.
