Mrs. Amy Bainbridge

My name is Amy E. Bainbridge. I’ve been teaching in the Cherry Creek school district since 2001. During my career, I’ve taught K-8th grade, I have my Masters in Gifted Education, and have done doctoral work in Curriculum and Instruction.  My favorite grade to teach is 5th grade and I’m so excited to be part of the 5th grade team at Cottonwood Creek. During my time away from school, I enjoy reading any type of book, trying out new restaurants, and traveling with my husband. I look forward to a great school year!

Mrs. Rebecca Buell

I was born and raised in North Dakota & Minnesota. I loved my midwest upbringing where I learned a strong work ethic, the importance of doing the right thing, family, friendships, and being KIND! I have been teaching for 28 years. The first two years I taught in El Paso, TX. The past 26 have been in Cherry Creek. The bulk of those years were spent in kindergarten and 2nd grade, but for the past 2 years I fell in love with 5th grade! My husband, Brad, and I have lived in Colorado for our 25 years together. We have 2 fabulous sons, Ben and Nic. They attend Metro State University and spend all of their free time in the mountains. After 28  years in the classroom I can still say I feel lucky to spend my days with kids and the opportunity to learn with them.

Mrs. Kristina Layman

Welcome to 5th grade! I am a proud product of Cherry Creek Schools and a Grandview High School graduate (class of ’05)! I graduated from Baylor University with my elementary education degree and received a Master’s degree in educational psychology from the University of Northern Colorado. I began my teaching career in Texas in 2009 before moving home to Colorado in 2011 and joining the Cottonwood Creek staff. Throughout my career, I have taught 2nd-5th grades, and fifth grade is the absolute BEST! When I’m not teaching, I enjoy spending time outside running and hiking. I also enjoy cooking/baking, reading, and going to the movies. It’s a privilege to spend my days building relationships with kids, teaching them, and learning alongside them.

Ms. Erin Wehrle

Hello!  My name is Erin Wehrle and I started teaching in 1999.  I am a Cherry Creek High School Class of ‘93 graduate, I have a BS in Kinesiology from the University of Puget Sound and MA in curriculum and instruction with a multicultural emphasis from CU Boulder.  I’m an assistant swim coach at Cherry Creek High School and spend a lot of time on the sidelines cheering on my sons, Jake (11th grade at CC) and Mike (9th grade at CC).  It’s a privilege to be a part of the Cottonwood Creek Family...I love spending my days working with the talented teachers and wonderful kids in our community.  Go Cougars!
