Welcome to track season!
We are excited for an fun, eventful track season. Go Lions!
-Every Monday-Thursday from 3:50-4:40pm (schedule dependent)
-Athletes need comfortable clothes, water, sneakers every day for practice
-There are late buses available every day after practice
-There is no practice on 8/26 due to Back to School Night
-There is no practice on 9/6 due to Labor Day
-There is no practice on 9/23 due to Goal Setting Conferences
-There will be no team or individual pictures to purchase; however, there will be team pictures for the yearbook.
9/2- vs. Prairie
Meet@ Campus Middle School (4785 S Dayton St Greenwood Village 80111)
Please note that this meet date is still being determined due to conflicting schedules. The only available dates to hold this meet is 8/31 or 9/1. We will inform you as soon as we know.
9/9- @ Liberty Middle School (21500 E Dry Creek Road Aurora 80016)
9/20- vs. Sky Vista Middle School
9/21- vs. Infinity Middle School
9/25- District Track Meet @ Cherokee Trail High School (more details to come)
Preference Forms & Line-ups:
-Preference forms will be sent out before the meets to gauge athletes’ interests in what events they would like to participate in.
-This is a REQUEST. Not a guarantee.
-Athletes can participate in 3 events per meet.
-If athletes do not fill out the preference form, they will be placed in whatever events are available (usually the 1600m and 800m).
-The line-ups will be emailed out 24 hours before the meet.
-Line-up and roster questions can be sent to individual grade-level coaches
-Athletes must attend at least four practices in order to participate in meets.
-Uniforms will be handed out at practice and MUST be returned by the end of the season or there will be a fine.
-Athletes must wear black shorts for meets.
-Metal cleats are not allowed.
-Home meets start at 4pm and last until 7pm (or when the sun sets)
-We need several parent volunteers to ensure home meets run smoothly and quickly. Sign up to volunteer for the 9/2 meet here.
-Away meets start 10-15 minutes after we’ve arrived at the visiting school
-All athletes (6th-8th) must wear masks on the bus to away meets (available as needed)
-Students will ride the bus to away meets, and can leave with a parent after completing their events.
-Students may ride the bus back to Laredo after away meets. Parents must be at Laredo by 7:15pm to pick students up. Students may not walk home.

*If an athlete is participating in a field event, they can complete that event at any time throughout the meet, as long as it doesn’t interfere with a race they are participating in*

Student Athlete Meet Preference Sign-up
Prior to each Meet Track team members will be given the opportunity to advise coaches of their event preferences.
Although Coaches will do their best to have athletes compete in their preferred events, placement in events cannot be guaranteed to match preferences.
