• What do AVID Tutors do?

AVID tutors are trained and certified in the use of AVID strategies to enhance academic performance of students and serve as role models and mentors. AVID tutors are active participants in the learning, growth, and personal development of students with the goal of preparing students to successfully attend college.

What are some highlights and successes of the CCSD AVID Program?

The Rita Hellman AVID Scholarship - A monetary award for qualifying seniors of exemplary academic achievement attending a four-year college upon graduation.

The Dare to Dream AVID Scholarship - The prospective Blue Sky Fund (BSF) A.C.C.E.S.S program supports AVID students on their pathway to college who have demonstrated academic excellence and devotion to the community in addition to some form of financial and/or circumstantial need. The program is designed to prepare students for the SAT with academic support to enter the college admissions process. See the AVID Coordinator at your school for enrollment information.

AVID Site of Distinction Recognition - Falcon Creek Middle School and Laredo Middle School
