• Food Guidelines and Policy:

At Black Forest Hills Elementary, we aim to ensure we are protecting our students to the best of our abilities. Cherry Creek School District is allergy aware school district. In order to protect students with life threatening allergies and/or medical conditions, we highly recommend:

    ● Choosing Packaged items with a Nutrition Label and Ingredient List. Keep in mind that some items only have an ingredient list and both are helpful. See below for an example:

    ● Choosing a non - food item to share at school (such as fun pencils, erasers, stickers, or donating a book to the classroom or building library)

    ● Notifying your students’ teacher at least 72 hours in advance of any food items you will be bringing in to the classroom.

Note: In the case of your child’s teacher or grade level participating in a food related activity or project, please note that our teachers at BFH will be working in collaboration with our school nurse to ensure that every child can safely participate. If you have any questions regarding nutritional labels, ingredient lists and/or food items, please contact our school nurse, Ashley Johnston.
