Are you struggling to attract entry-level talent or find employees with the technical skills your organization needs? Join the Colorado movement by participating in the Cherry Creek School District Internship Program.
An internship is a professional learning experience that provides meaningful, practical, work-related exposure aligned with a student’s career interests. Within the Cherry Creek School District, our Internship Program offers students hands-on experience in the career field they wish to pursue after graduation. This opportunity allows students to apply the knowledge and theory learned in the classroom to real-world situations, fostering both skill development and practical application in a professional environment.
Internships are available to juniors and seniors who apply through the Work-Based Learning Job Board and are selected by participating industry partners. Typically, internships last for one school semester (either the 1st or 2nd semester) or during the summer. To receive graduation credit, students must complete a minimum of 100 internship hours.
For industry partners, internships are an excellent way to identify and source future talent with minimal commitment. Unlike an apprenticeship, which spans multiple years, an internship only lasts one semester. However, if a student proves to be an asset to your organization, extending the internship is an option. In fact, last summer, 80% of our interns were invited to continue their internship during the academic year.
