My name is Rebecca Clawson and I have the honor of being a Pre-Kindergarten Director and Instructor here at Cottonwood.  I have been employed in the Cherry Creek School District for 25 years in a variety of positions. I am happily returning to Cottonwood after being assigned elsewhere for a few years. I have been married for 42 years, and my husband is the biggest PACKER fan you will ever meet. Our life is consumed with football! Oh, we also have three wonderful children and four amazingly, wonderful grandchildren. I proudly graduated from the University of Nebraska with a degree in Elementary Education and Human Development. I first taught school in Iowa and then we moved here to Colorado. I have always loved the educational environment and have been very fortunate to be involved with families and children in a variety of ways. I look forward to guiding the Pre-Kindergarteners as they begin their journey and discover the joy and magic of learning!

My name is Laura Paterson, and I am thrilled to be helping build the Pre-Kindergarten program with our amazing Pre-Kindergarten team here at Cottonwood Creek! I have taught in the Cherry Creek School District for over 15 years, and this is my fifth-year teaching Preschool/Pre-Kindergarten. I grew up in Denver but headed to the University of Kansas, where I earned my Bachelor's degree and happily met my husband of 33 years! When we returned to Denver, I earned my Master's degree in Elementary Education from Regis University and started teaching. We have three grown children, who are all former Cottonwood Creek Cougars and proud graduates of Cherry Creek High School. While our home is a little quieter now, it is a joy to see our children spread their wings and do great things. I truly love working with Pre-Kindergarteners, and I celebrate the sense of wonder and enthusiasm they bring to school each day!  As parents, you are also an important part of our team. You are your child’s first teacher, and I value working with you to support your child’s growth and development.

Hi, I’m Jennifer Abrams and I’m thrilled to be working in Cottonwood’s UPK.  I have my Master's in Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis and my Bachelor's degree in Human Development and Psychological Services from Northwestern University. I began my career as a social worker in both early childhood settings and pediatric hospitals and took a number of years off from the "working" world to be home with my kids. Our family moved here from Illinois in 2016 for my husband's job. We have 2 daughters, ages 13 and 10 and they grew up here at Cottonwood Creek. I am excited to now have the opportunity to watch a new group of students learn and grow at a school our family has loved. When I’m not at school you’ll find me with my kids, enjoying their extracurricular activities, reading a good book or walking our dog through the neighborhood. 

Hi! My name is Jinxian Luo. I am so lucky to be a part of Cottonwood. This is my first year at Cottonwood, and I love it so much. I got my Master's Degree at Beijing Normal University. I used to be a book editor. I made some children’s books. I have been teaching at Denver Chinese School as a part-time job since 2016 when I came to Denver. I love to work with children, and I also love crafts. That’s why I chose to work at Pre-Kindergarten. My husband and I have 3 girls, ages 13, 5, 3. They either went to, are currently at, or will attend Cottonwood in the future. In my free time I enjoy reading, hiking, cooking, and being with my family.
