Cherry Creek Schools Spelling Bee

Cherry Creek Schools Spelling Bee is affiliated with the Scripps National Spelling Bee. As a district, we have participated for the last two decades. Each year, elementary and middle schools around the district host a school spelling bee. Last year we had 100 percent participation from ALL schools in the district! 

On January 31, 2025, a district-level spelling bee will be held, where the top three elementary and top four middle school winners from each school will compete in a formal Spelling Bee. It begins with a written test of 60 words: 20 vocabulary word definitions and 40 words to spell. From that competition, the top 30-35 spellers will move on to the oral spelling bee taking place the following day, February 1, 2025, at the Student Achievement Resource Center (SARC). The district Bee becomes an exciting showdown of spelling expertise and nerves of steel. The Colorado State Bee spelling and vocabulary online test will occur sometime in February of 2025.
