    Career Connections is a program designed to connect students with career pathways of interest by partnering with businesses in the community. Through experiences including Career Exploration class, career readiness training, career tours, career shadowing, career days, internships and apprenticeships, students will have the opportunity to explore career pathways and develop career readiness skills. Career Connections is off ered through the Career and Technical Education Department of Cherry Creek Schools.

    Overview

    Career Exploration is a class designed to help students explore their strengths and interests, careers and career pathways through interacting with career speakers and industry tours.

    Career Speaker and Events

    • Approximately 30 speakers and 6 tours
    •  Introduce students to a variety of careers
    •  Emphasis on non-traditional career paths
    •  Expose students to a variety of work environments
    •  Provide Interactive experiences
    •  Personal connection to the industry

    Requirements

    • Junior or Senior
    • Excellent attendance
    • Motivated to explore career pathways with an open mind

  • Internships

    Overview

    The Internship program allows students to gain real-life work experiences in career field that they would like to pursue after graduation.

    Internship Experience

    • Work based experience learning program
    • 100 hours (average of 6 hours per week in 18 weeks, 10 hours per week in summer)
    • Non-paid professional environment

    Internships Requirements

    • 3.2 or higher GPA
    • Recommendations
    • Interview Attendance
    • Own transportation
    • Senior Interview

  • Apprenticeships - Careerwise Colorado

    Overview

    Through CareerWise Colorado students will be involved in a modern youth apprenticeship in one of the following career pathways: advanced manufacturing, information technology, financial services, Business operations and health care.

    Requirements

    • Sophomore or Junior
    • Ability to balance school and apprenticeship
