Special Education Advisory Committee

The Special Education Advisory Committee focuses on the educational needs of students with disabilities. The committee is composed of parents of children with special needs, as well as professionals and community members. It serves in an advisory capacity to Student Achievement Services/Special Populations and the Cherry Creek Board of Education. At monthly meetings, programs are presented that relate to special education. The meetings are open to anyone wishing to attend.

All SEAC Meetings will be held in person.
All meetings are held monthly from 9:30 am to 11:30 am at SARC (14188 E. Briarwood Ave, Centennial, CO 80112).

Our January 13, 2022, SEAC meeting on SPED Programs and STRIDE partnerships has been postponed until the spring. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
We look forward to seeing you at the February 10, 2022 meeting. We will have representatives from Developmental Pathways, the School to Work Alliance Program, and the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation join us to discuss community-based transition services.

The CCSD Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC) is currently seeking interest from parent and community members for the SEAC Steering (aka Planning) Committee and interest in any subcommittee we may create. We currently have openings for a Transition Liaison and a Member at Large.
The Transition Liaison responsibilities are as follows: Act as a resource to persons who inquire about specific transition services, coordinate positive measures to bring about cooperation within the CCSD community, act as a spokesperson for SEAC.
Member at Large responsibilities are as follows: Coordinate positive measures to bring about cooperation within the CCSD community, act as a spokesperson for SEAC.
