Seal of Biliteracy

  • About the Seal of Biliteracy

The Seal of Biliteracy is an award issued by a state department of education or local school district to recognize a graduating student who has attained proficiency in English Language Arts and one or more World Languages.  The recognition of attaining biliteracy becomes part of the high school permanent record via their transcripts. The seal certifies attainment of biliteracy for students and is a statement of accomplishment that further supports a students’ preparedness for college/career and for engagement as a global citizen.
