Did you know that Eaglecrest High School offers a specialized graduation certificate for students who excel in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM)? It's true! This specialized honors program has been launching highly qualified students into the STEM world for the over 20 years.

Courses in the Sci-Tech program emphasize the direct application of science and math concepts through learning experiences with advanced technology. Input provided by higher education and advanced technology employers indicates that students interested in engineering, bioscience, or any advanced technology career need to have a solid foundation of skills in math, science, writing/communication, knowledge of industry, and problem solving. This program will balance the theoretical and practical skills needed to be successful in technology-related careers.

The Sci-Tech program is viewed as a successful college preparatory program for students who are entering selective and highly selective schools such as Colorado School of Mines, University of Colorado, Colorado State University, Denver University and out of state schools from around the country. Students who have completed the program will tell you that participating in the Sci-Tech program gave them the foundation needed to succeed in college and in the work force. We are proud to announce that our graduates are employed by a variety of innovative companies including Disney Imagineering, General Electric, Lockheed Martin, Chrysler, United Launch Alliance, and NASA.

In order for a student to complete the program, he/she must perform additional STEM coursework, complete an upper level independent study tied to the student's specific interests, and engage with community STEM events. Once the study is complete, each student performs a formal presentation on what he/she learned and accomplished during his or her experience.
