Our goal in Physical Education is to develop physical fitness, refine movement patterns, develop new skills, and have vigorous daily activity. We ask children to be open to learning, and ready to move every day. We feel the movement experienced in physical education can support learning in the regular classroom and provide a basis for lifetime health.
The following activities are some of the units your son or daughter may do in Physical Education:
- Volleyball
- Basketball
- Soccer
- Archery
- Badminton/Pickleball, and
- Physical fitness measurement and development
Some exploratory activities could include:
- Floor Hockey
- Lacrosse
- Football
- Tennis
- Rhythms
- Adventure
- Cup Stacking, and
- Obstacle Course
Weather permitting, we will conduct the movement portion of class outside this year to allow for increased physical distancing.
PE and Fitness Training
-
In Physical Education we strive to develop the physical fitness of all students. This year we will not be conducting physical fitness testing due to the pandemic. However, we will encourage students to practice endurance, muscular strength building and flexibility on their own. One of our goals is to help improve your student’s level of physical fitness, as this can benefit their overall health and academic performance.
