Physical Education

  • Physical Education classes are an elective offering in 6th, 7th, & 8th grades. PE choices include Indoor and Outdoor PE for all three grades, and Team Sports (7th), and Strength and Fitness (8th).  

  • Indoor Physical Education 6
    This course enhances the motor, intellectual, and social development of students through physical movement.
    Students will learn cooperation, team play, and sportsmanship through various activities including climbing,
    weight training, basketball, volleyball, polo, and team handball. Fitness components and wellness concepts are
    integrated into the activities. (quarter)

  • Indoor Physical Education 7
    This course enhances the motor, intellectual, and social development of students through physical movement.
    Students will learn cooperation, team play, and sportsmanship through various activities including climbing,
    weight training, basketball, volleyball, polo and team handball. Activities integrate fitness components and
    wellness concepts. (quarter)

    Team Sports 7 (Highly Recommended)
    This course enhances the motor, intellectual, and social development of students through physical movement.

    football, track and field, lacrosse, softball, and an Olympics unit. Activities integrate fitness components and
    wellness concepts. (quarter)

  • Team Sports 8 (Highly Recommended)

    Physical Education: Strength and Fitness
    This class will be primarily in the weight room. Students will learn the importance of being physically fit and
    will use circuit training, cardiovascular exercises/equipment, and weight training to increase their fitness
    levels. Students will be taught exercises that can be to be performed with little or no weight at relatively high
    repetitions. Students will also create individual fitness programs/routines to meet their fitness goals.
    Cardiovascular equipment, weight training machines, and free weights will be used in this course. (quarter)
