Each year, students take a standardized test to help prepare them for the ACT test (SAT test is optional) they will take during their Junior and Senior years. Standardized tests scores are used in the application process to most colleges and universities.

    ACT Aspire

Freshman and sophomores will take the ACT Aspire test in the fall. The ACT Aspire lays the foundation to how the ACT test will be structured. Students will also receive potential career interests based off the interest profiler. Test scores are also used by department coordinators for proper placement in classes.

    Practice ACT

Juniors will take the practice ACT exam in the fall. Students can use the results to focus on preparing for specific sections of the ACT exam. It is a practice exam and will not be used in the college admission process. This test is used to help students prepare for the State mandated ACT test in April.

    National ACT Exams

In addition to the State mandated ACT test in April of student's Junior year, students may elect to take the ACT to enhance their scores. There are various ACT test dates throughout the year, held on Saturdays. For more information or to sign up for the ACT test, visit the National ACT Exams website. If you do not have internet access at home, you can come sign up in the College & Career Center.

    Method Test Prep

Eaglecrest students have access to an ACT preparation service called Method Test Prep (MTP).  This is a free service for our current students.  Students must stop in at the College and Career Center to receive their access code before logging in the first time.
Students can access Method Test Prpe at the link above or at https://app.methodtestprep.com/EaglecrestHighSchool/signup

    Practice SAT (PSAT)

The practice SAT test is available to sophomores and juniors mid-October. The PSAT is the qualifying exam for the National Merit Scholar program. National Merit Scholars are juniors who score in the top 0.5% nation for all PSAT testers.

    National SAT

The SAT is another standardized test used in the admission process. Some colleges and universities will ask for the SAT test, specifically those on the East Coast, West Coast and highly selective schools. This test should be taken in addition to the ACT.

    Advanced Placement Exams (AP)

Freshman through Seniors who elect to take an Advance Placement class will have the option to take the final test in early May. These exams are scores on a scale of 1 to 5 and depending on the individual's score, they may be able to use it towards college credit.  Registration can be completed through our registration site at TotalRegistration.net/AP/060066 beginning after Fall Break.
