 School Policies 

Attendance for Virtual Classes (Tuesdays and Wednesdays)

Virtual classes are held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Students must log in to their virtual classes and attend each scheduled class. Attendance is taken based on students being logged into the virtual classroom at the beginning of the period. Communication to parents will go out by the end of the school day on Tuesday and Wednesday for missed virtual class periods.

Attendance for Click (asynchronous) and Brick (face-to-face) Days

Students are to submit between 2 and 5 assignments in each course per week to keep them on track to finish that course's work prior to the end of the grading period.  If a student does not submit any assignments for a course in a given week (Tuesday through the following Monday), they will be counted absent for the click and brick days (Thursday, Friday, and Monday).

Teachers review student login activity and progress made weekly to determine whether a student attended. They take attendance on Tuesday for the PREVIOUS week of submissions. Communication will go out on Wednesday notifying parents of absences for Click/Brick Days.

Cherry Creek Elevation Technology Agreement

All students will be receiving a district issued device through the 1:1 program.  Devices will be distributed during the student check-in process. Students are expected to adhere to the district's technology agreement (found in Parent Forms).  Students may use a personal device to complete work and access classes at Elevation.  Devices must meet the minimum requirements to run our systems.  Chromebooks, tablets, and smartphones will not meet the minimum standard.

*Please note that students participating in state testing may not use a personal device to take assessments.  Only school issued devices will be allowed for state testing.

Parent Canvas Information

What is an Observer Account?

As a Canvas Observer, you will be able to see your student's courses in Canvas.  An observer can see assignments, grades, teacher feedback, and course calendars.  Please click on the following link to watch a brief video on Observer Accounts.

How are Observer Accounts Created?

1.  Observers are paired with students through a pairing code that is generated from the student account.  This must be done first.  Watch the following video on how to generate a pairing code.

2.  Once the pairing code is generated, an account can be created. 

Click on the Observer Account Portal Access then complete the registration process.

4.  You may now begin to use your Canvas Observer Account.  Click on the following link for some quick tips on registering and using the Observer Account through the web portal.

Canvas Observer accounts can also be accessed via the Canvas Parent App.  Look for the Canvas App in the App Store and download it to your smartphone or tablet. Our school name is listed as Cherry Creek Schools Parents.
