About Highline Community Elementary School

Welcome to Highline Community Elementary School, home of the huskies!  Highline is a warm and welcoming learning environment focused on academic achievement coupled with social and emotional growth for all students.  We value the diversity and the rich experiences our students and their families contribute to our community.  We are proud of the strong relationships we make with not only our students but also with our families.

There are approximately 400 students at Highline in kindergarten through 5th grade.  In the 2022-23 school year, we will be adding pre-school for our youngest huskies.  Highline offers a variety of programs and opportunities that enrich the academic experience for all of our students. These programs include Gifted/Talented, English Language Acquisition, Reading Intervention, School-Wide Title I programs, and an Integrated Learning Center for our students with multiple disabilities. Through these services, we effectively educate our students and provide them with individualized instruction.

Highline is a unique community with a large number of English language learners. In our English Language Acquisition program, students acquire English proficiency while simultaneously respecting their native languages and cultures.  Additionally, we partner with the Learning Source, which provides English language classes for our non-English speaking parents through a Cherry Creek School District English Language Acquisition Department grant.  Our 79% diverse population enhances the values and learning styles of the Highline community.

The Highline staff is truly focused on high achievement and growth for all of our students.  We provide a rigorous learning environment with high expectations that will ensure a productive and meaningful future.  We cultivate our community of learners with a sense of belonging and curiosity.  We instill a passion and stamina for learning to continue our intellectual, social, and emotional development to create an inclusive, anti-racist world.

Highline also offers after-school intramurals and clubs in coordination with our before and afterschool child care program.  There are many opportunities for our community of learners to get involved at Highline.
