Morning Drop Off: The doors will open at 7:45a each day. Students should not arrive before 7:45a as there will be no supervision. Students will enter the building through their grade level door (see map below). Instruction and breakfast start at 8:00a. Students will eat breakfast in their classrooms. Students are considered tardy if they arrive at 8:00a.

Afternoon Pick Up: The school day ends at 2:45 on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Every Wednesday, the school day ends at 1:45p. Students will be dismissed outside of their grade level doors. As a friendly reminder, students need to leave school grounds when school dismisses unless supervised by an adult.

On Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday teachers will be outside in the morning to greet their students. Each teacher will hold up a sign with their name on it so students can find them easily. Students will say goodbye to their families and enter the building through their designated door with their teachers. Only staff and students will be able to enter the building through these doors at drop off. Starting on Thursday, doors will be open at 7:45a and students can enter the building through their designated grade level door.

Visitors: We are excited to welcome parent volunteers and visitors back into our buildings this year. For right now, we are not allowing visitors during lunch. Please note that every time you visit you must enter through the main door and check in with the front office. You will be asked to provide a photo identification each time - please bring it with you.

Masks: Today TriCounty updated its recommendations to school districts, as was shared with you in Mr. Smith’s letter. All students, staff, and visitors are required to wear masks while in our school.  Please work with your child to ensure they know how to properly wear their mask (over their nose and under their chin) and stress the importance of wearing their mask. Students, staff, and visitors must wear a mask, no gators, or other types of face coverings. We will have extra masks available for students and adults.

We are looking forward to seeing you all next week!

    Hello Sunrise Students and Families,

We are beyond excited to welcome you to the 2021-2022 school year! We are looking forward to this year of learning, growth, and coming together as a community! Next week all of our teachers and staff will be returning to set up their learning spaces and to prepare for the school year! We are eager to welcome you all - having the sounds of laughter and joy fill our hallways and seeing your faces in-person in our school’s hallways and classrooms once again!

The past year and a half has challenged us in many ways. It has given us new insights, challenged our traditional ways of thinking, shown us new ways of learning, and it has had profound impacts - some positive and some negative - and it has hindered our abilities to connect in authentic and deep ways. Moving into the 2021-2022 school year it will be imperative that we all acknowledge those impacts and begin to navigate our way forward. It will be essential that we focus on connections and our partnerships that will lead to meaningful and deep learning and a strong community that supports our Sunrise students!

The following are some important pieces of information for you as we start our school year:

    Early Release Wednesdays

All Cherry Creek elementary schools will have early release days every Wednesday at 1:45 pm to enhance professional development and training opportunities for our elementary teachers. By having this specific time set aside, there will be less need to pull teachers out of the classroom during the day, which creates continuity for students and less of a reliance on substitute teachers. With this change, our elementary schools will still exceed the class time required by the Colorado Department of Education. For families who participate in after-school childcare, the after-school program will be extended every Wednesday at no additional cost. For families who need  care, you can register by contacting Mrs. Joanne Lopez at 720.886.2980. Our first early release Wednesday will be  August 18th.

Family & Student CheckIn: Thursday Aug. 12th 3:00-6:00p

You will have an opportunity to make sure you are all signed-in, get important information about Sunrise, find out and meet your child’s teacher, and visit your child’s classroom! Family CheckIn in will be held on Thursday, August 12th from 3:00-6:00pm.

Please note that in order to find out your child’s teacher, you must complete your parent forms. We will have computers and staff available to help everyone complete this essential step. If you can, please complete your parent forms ahead of Family CheckIn as this will decrease the amount of time you will need to spend at Family CheckIn. Forms can be accessed through your my.cherrycreek parent portal.

For Kindergarten families, you will not find out who your child’s teacher is until Tuesday Aug. 17th after welcome day appointments are complete. However, we encourage you to still attend CheckIn, visit the classrooms, and meet our Kindergarten team!

Tuesday Aug. 17th: Grades 1-2 ONLY

Wednesday Aug. 18th: ALL grades K-5, early release at 1:45pm

    School Hours

Students can arrive at school at 7:45am. Breakfast will begin at this time and will be served in their classrooms. Students who arrive at school after  8:00am will be marked tardy. Students will be dismissed from school at 2:45pm (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday). Early dismissal on Wednesdays will be at 1:45pm.

    Breakfast and Lunch

Breakfast and lunch will be provided at no cost for the 2021-2022 school year! Breakfast and lunch meals are available to every student. Please fill out this in the Titan system: Meal Application. This information determines federal funding for our school, so it is very important that all families complete the form. Thank you for taking time to do so.

Please continue to check our school website for information about our school and the school year. If you have any  questions, please do not hesitate to reach out. We will be sharing more detailed information and a reminder about Family CheckIn next week.
