    Dear Walnut Hills Community,

It is with great pride and enthusiasm that I introduce myself to you as the new principal of Walnut Hills Elementary!  I am extremely excited to join the Walnut Hills school community and I can’t wait to start meeting and building relationships with each of you. As the principal, I am eager to work with our staff and community in providing the best educational experience for all students while furthering Walnut Hills’ history of academic excellence

I am from the great state of Georgia, by way of New York, and I have lived in beautiful Colorado for eleven years now. I have been married for twenty-two years to my college sweetheart Will, a retired Air Force veteran, and we have two amazing teenage daughters. As a military wife, I’ve experienced living in many cities around the world and I have worked with students and families from diverse cultures.  My time in Tokyo greatly expanded my views on culture, family, language, and I learned that there is power in community. I want to learn more about this exceptional community and partner with you in enhancing the learning experiences of all students and staff.

My career in education spans twenty years of service to students as a teacher and leader at the elementary and middle school levels.  As an instructional leader, I hold an unwavering belief in the possibilities for all students.  I believe that given the proper environment, access to opportunities, and healthy relationships all students can grow, learn, and achieve at high levels.  My passion for learning and laying the foundation necessary for children to achieve their hopes and dreams is what has brought me to Walnut Hills as your principal.  I will work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and families to ensure that our learners achieve high levels of success.

Teachers, staff, and families play a vital role in the team approach that is necessary to meet   the intellectual, physical, and social-emotional needs of students.  I truly believe that we will succeed by doing five things: work hard, enjoy the journey, love our students, staff, and families, find the learning in everything you do, and take on opportunities to grow.  With all of us supporting each other, we will achieve success.  Please come by and join me for coffee, partner with us in planning a school event, or give me a call with your questions and suggestions. My door is always open, and your feedback is welcomed!

    Your partner in education,

    Kali Williams
