Meet the CCSD Board of Education Members

Anne Egan, President
Director, District A
Anne Egan has had the chance to see how the Cherry Creek School District functions at all different levels.
Egan was elected as President of the CCSD Board of Education in December 2025 after being re-elected for her second term as District A Director in November 2023. A former education policy advisor with Colorado Gov. Roy Romer and parent to four children who graduated through Cherry Creek Schools, Egan has long had a well-informed view of the district of more than 53,000 students.
This experience has come in addition to longtime roles within the district – Egan has been an active member in CCSD organizations ranging from elementary school PTCOs to the Cherry Creek Community Legislative Network.
“It is important for me to give back to the district,” Egan said, adding that at one point, she had four kids in four different schools. Each found their own path to excellence within the district, and each drew on resources within their classrooms to forge their own Pathway of Purpose. “I look forward to continuing this important work for our students, with a particular focus on mental health and physical safety, teachers, and innovative pathways.”
Egan certainly has the experience and the know-how to keep those issues at the forefront as she helps the organization implement the ideals and values encapsulated in the strategic objectives outlined for Cherry Creek’s roadmap for maintaining excellence for all, excellence for the future.

John-Claude Futrell
Director, District B
John-Claude Futrell, known as JC, joined the CCSD Board of Education in September 2025 as an appointed Director in District B. JC is an alum of Prairie Middle School and Overland High School and a parent of two current CCSD students.
With over two decades of leadership in nonprofit and community organizations, JC’s work has centered around education, equity and community leadership. He has helped oversee multi-million-dollar budgets, secured public and private grant funding, and established policies to guide programmatic and financial sustainability. As an arts executive, he has worked closely with boards of directors to develop equitable contracting and hiring policies and build multi-year planning structures that balance community needs with financial stewardship.
“Education is the bridge between the world our children inherit and the future they will create. I am honored to serve as the District B representative for Cherry Creek Schools, and I am deeply excited to help nurture curiosity, opportunity, and excellence for every student in our community.”
As a current parent in the district, JC has been an active volunteer, regularly helping in classrooms, at school events, leading student activities, and serving on his local PTCO. He is also a baseball and basketball coach for Aurora Parks and Recreation.
As a board member, JC aims to ensure equitable access to high-quality education across all schools, to strengthen family and community engagement, and support programs that nurture both academic excellence and social-emotional growth. JC’s ultimate priority to help foster environments where every child – regardless of background – feels seen, supported, and empowered to succeed.

Angela Garland
Director, District C
Angela Garland was re-elected to a second term in the board’s District C Director position in November 2023, and served as President of the board from December 2023 to December 2025.
Garland is the mother of four children, two of whom are currently enrolled in CCSD. Currently, she serves as the Development Director for Scouting Colorado (formerly Boy Scouts). Her résumé also includes positions with the Cherry Creek Schools Foundation, district P.A.S.S. (Partnerships for Academically Successful Students), Cherry Creek’s District Accountability Committee and parent teacher organizations. All of this work with district organizations caps a career spent working closely with nonprofits and other community organizations in Colorado, Missouri and her native Nebraska.
Combined, all of this experience has offered Garland a unique perspective on the most pressing issues related to public education in general and those facing Cherry Creek Schools specifically.
“I am honored to be able to continue my work on the Board of Education. I enjoy serving, listening and learning as we work to ensure each and every student has access to opportunities provided to them as they find their Pathway of Purpose,” said Garland.

Hamrick is a proud parent of two CCSD graduates, husband to a lifelong CCSD educator, father of a current CCSD educators, and grandparent of a current CCSD kindergartner.
Hamrick began his career in the U.S. Air Force and then transitioned into providing life safety, security, and communications systems to Colorado schools.
In addition, Hamrick has been an active volunteer and public servant in CCSD and Arapahoe County for years, from coaching Destination Imagination, volunteering for mill and bond campaigns and school events as well as serving on the Arapahoe Citizens’ Budget Committee, Centennial Home Rule Charter Commission, Centennial Liquor Licensing Board Chair, and past president of his local Homeowners Association and Metropolitan District.
