Superintendent Search
The Cherry Creek School District Board of Education has launched a search for the next Superintendent to lead our district of approximately 52,000 students.
Selecting a superintendent is one of the Board’s most important responsibilities. The Board is committed to an open, inclusive and thoughtful process that reflects the voices of our students, families, staff, and community. Through this process, the Board will seek a leader who can build on Cherry Creek’s strong tradition of excellence while helping shape the district’s future.
In May, the Board issued a Request for Proposals for a consultant to support the superintendent search. In June, the Board selected McPherson & Jacobson to lead the search process. The firm will facilitate community engagement and support the Board throughout the search, including gathering input about the qualities, experience and leadership values our community believes are important in the next superintendent.
Based on feedback received to date, the Board is seeking a highly visible, high-integrity and student-centered leader who:
- Builds trust through transparency, communication and accountability;
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to equity and opportunity for every student;
- Develops and advances a clear vision focused on improved student outcomes;
- Leads strategically while effectively managing a complex organization;
- Builds strong relationships with students, staff, families and community partners; and
- Brings people together around shared goals and a common vision for the future.

In September, McPherson & Jacobson will also facilitate a series of in-person stakeholder meetings. Feedback gathered through the survey and stakeholder meetings will be shared with the Board and will help inform the search and selection process.

August 2026 - Online stakeholder survey begins

September 11, 2026 - Online stakeholder survey closes
October 15, 2026 - Application deadline
December 8–9, 2026 - Preliminary candidate interviews (Executive Session)
January 11, 2027 - Final candidate named (Open Meeting)
January 26, 2027 - Vote on superintendent contract (Open Meeting)
