Concurrent and Dual Enrollment (CE/DE)
Cherry Creek Schools offers Concurrent and Dual Enrollment courses that allow students to earn both high school and college credit at the same time. Students may earn college credit in a wide range of Career & Technical Education, core academic, and general elective courses.
Concurrent Enrollment courses are tuition-free through a local community college.
Dual Enrollment courses are offered through a local university and include a minimal per-credit fee.
All Concurrent and Dual Enrollment courses are taught by CCSD teachers approved as adjunct faculty by an accredited community college or university and are offered at CCSD high schools and select district facilities, including CCIC and Pathways at Overland.
Why Take Concurrent or Dual Enrollment Courses?
Earn college credit early.
Students can earn college credit while in high school, potentially reducing the cost and time needed to complete an associate or bachelor’s degree.

These courses immerse students in college-level expectations and help build skills needed for postsecondary success.

Concurrent and Dual Enrollment courses demonstrate a student’s commitment to rigorous, challenging coursework.
Credit is earned through coursework, not a single exam.
College credit is awarded with a grade of C or better and is not dependent on one end-of-year test. (Required paperwork must be completed at the beginning of the semester.)

Many CCSD high schools offer a wide range of Concurrent and Dual Enrollment elective courses, allowing students to explore interests and career pathways while earning college credit and, in some cases, industry certifications.
Who can enroll in Concurrent/Dual Enrollment courses?
- Students in grades 9-12, who are under the age of 21
- Students who receive approval for the class as part of their Individual Career and Academic Plan (ICAP)
- Students who meet the minimum prerequisites for the course
Steps to enroll in a Concurrent Enrollment course
Note: Teacher will provide all information for Steps 2-4 at the beginning of the course.
- Enroll in the course at your home high school, meeting all prerequisites.
- Apply to the college associated with the course.
- Apply to College Opportunity Fund (COF) as part of your college application.
- Complete CCSD Concurrent Enrollment Student Agreement.
- Satisfy the above requirements and earn a C or better in the class to receive college credit.
Dual Enrollment follows a slightly different process which will be explained by the teacher at the beginning of the course.
