Elementary: Digital Citizenship Curriculum
The S3 Digital Citizenship Framework is intentionally implemented within the general education classroom to ensure that every student across the district, from PreK through 5th grade, receives essential digital literacy instruction. By integrating these lessons into the daily classroom environment, we provide a consistent foundation for all students to become responsible members of our digital community.

Safe
Students learn to protect themselves and others by managing passwords, protecting personally identifiable information (PII), and becoming social media aware.

Smart
Students educate themselves and others through proper device care, effective online search skills, and learning to troubleshoot technology independently.

Social
Students learn to respect themselves and others by communicating respectfully, understanding copyright law, and recognizing the impact of AI in their daily lives.

The S3 Digital Citizenship Framework was created from the ground up, utilizing research-based best practices and the expertise of multiple stakeholders from across Cherry Creek Schools. Our development team prioritized high-level standards, specifically aligning every lesson with ISTE Standards to ensure our curriculum remains rigorous and effective.
Because this framework was built specifically for Cherry Creek students, it is uniquely tailored to address the needs of our schools right now. We recognize the specific challenges and opportunities our students face, and the S3 curriculum provides targeted, grade-appropriate instruction to meet them.
