Electives and Specials

Cherry Creek Schools offers a diverse range of elective courses designed to develop the whole student. Our electives program encompasses Health Education, Performing Arts, Physical Education, Visual Arts, and World Languages, providing students with opportunities to explore their interests and talents beyond core academic subjects.

These elective programs are integral to our educational mission of inspiring every student to think, learn, achieve, and care. They offer essential skills and experiences that complement academic learning and prepare students for future success in a global society.

Our Electives Framework

The Cherry Creek Electives Framework builds upon our district's instructional excellence. Each elective area follows a comprehensive approach that balances skill development, creative expression, cultural understanding, and personal growth.

Health Education

Our Health Education program equips students with knowledge and skills to make informed decisions about their physical, mental, and social well-being. The curriculum addresses age-appropriate topics that promote lifelong healthy habits.

Performing Arts

The Performing Arts program nurtures creative expression through music, theater, and dance. Students develop confidence, collaboration skills, and artistic abilities while exploring various performance disciplines.

Physical Education

Our Physical Education program focuses on developing physical literacy, promoting active lifestyles, and teaching teamwork. Students learn skills that contribute to lifelong fitness and well-being.

Visual Arts

The Visual Arts program encourages creative thinking and expression through various media and techniques. Students develop observational skills, cultural awareness, and artistic abilities while exploring personal creativity.

World Languages

Our World Languages program prepares students for global citizenship by developing proficiency in other languages and understanding diverse cultures. Students gain communication skills and perspectives essential for success in our interconnected world.

Each elective program employs the district's instructional cycle of planning, teaching, monitoring, and adjusting to meet individual student needs while maintaining high expectations for achievement. Our electives teachers are committed to providing engaging, relevant experiences that allow every student to discover and develop their unique talents and interests.
