How Do I Get An Instrument?
One of the most common questions parents have regarding band and orchestra is: "Do I need to buy my student their own instrument?" The short answer is "No!" In most cases, the instrumental program at your local school has district-owned instruments that studnets can borrow. In some cases, there may be a nominal fee associated with this that covers cleaning and maintanence of the instrument.
Another way to get an instrument for your student is by renting one from a local music store. This is a very cost-effective way to get a high-quality instrument in your students' hands and may include other benefits such as loaner instruments if you need to send yours in for repair. Rental instruments are also usually eligable for exchange in the event that your student grows out of their instrument over the course of the school year.
