Cherry Creek Schools Lead State in 2026 Bobby G Awards Nominations
Cherry Creek School District students and staff are taking center stage across Colorado, earning more Bobby G Awards nominations than any other district in 2026.
Presented by the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, the Bobby G Awards celebrate excellence in Colorado high school musical theatre and serve as the state’s pathway to the national Jimmy Awards—often considered the “high school Tonys.”
This year’s awards ceremony will take place May 15 at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House. Cherry Creek Schools will be well represented on stage, with senior Tavio Amouzou of Overland High School and Grandview High School’s cast of Cinderella selected to perform during the ceremony.
Across the district, multiple schools and individuals were recognized for their outstanding work:
Cherry Creek High School earned two nominations for Sweet Charity:
- Best Pit Orchestra
- Best Choreography (Rory Haar, Alex Burkart and Emily Burkart)
Eaglecrest High School earned one nomination for The Music Man:
- Lianna Walker, Best Stage Management
Grandview High School earned three nominations for Cinderella:
- Nick Hamilton, Best Supporting Actor (Sebastian)
- Monica Slabach, Best Direction
- Best Overall Production
Overland High School earned three nominations for its production of Catch Me If You Can:

These nominations highlight the exceptional talent, creativity and dedication of Cherry Creek Schools’ performing arts students and educators, and reflect the strength of theatre programs across the district.
